Stress, Fear and Disappointment.

Time to take a step back...

One of the hardest things to do is to initiate a "pause" in our workflow for the sake of our workflow.
It feels counterintuitive to STOP working for the sake of your work.
But when the work and energy you are putting in is not reaping the desired outcome you had envisioned for yourself...

As Jeff Foxyworthy would say: "here's yer sign."

This methodology applies to anyone who is spinning his or her wheels or experiencing a dip in business or happiness.

The Human Condition 101:

We are a product of the situations we go through.

Our individual experiences make up for what gets imprinted on our psyche and our happiness will be directly impacted.
If we do not acknowledge and deal with disappointments and frustrations as they come.

Your job…
Your service to others…
Your income…
Your happiness and health...

They are all at the mercy of how you internalize stress, fear and disappointment.

Sometimes it will feel like the entire universe has stacked the deck against you.
You will find yourself asking "why me"?
It is a sure thing.

If and when you feel isolated and trapped in a maze of bad luck while others, even rookies, are succeeding.
It will feel unfair and it will be enough to send you spiraling if you let it.

"why me?" will come up during your self talk at some point if you are doing anything challenging.

Some honesty:

Picture yourself carrying a 30 pound sand bag to the car one time from your office.
It is a 20-foot distance getting the bag from the building to the car.
Not really easy… but also possible (feel free to make the bag 15 pounds).
Now picture yourself have to do this 5 times.
Then 10 times... Then 30!

By the 30th time the bag is feeling like 100 pounds and it is getting to the point you may not be able to carry it much longer.

That is “WHY” you.

The 30-pound bag represents everything that has ever weighed on your head and heart.
The bag represents the baggage of many bad experiences that formed your now perception of the world and its laws.

Laws (really perceptions) concerning fairness and luck.

People who know how to set the bag down and leave it down for good move though life easier and with more happiness.

So "fixing" a slow business or unhappy clients is entirely about changing how you do business...
It is actually about learning the best ways to allow you to heal from and acknowledge the impact of many many 20-foot trips with a 30 pound bag.

It is about taking the first step and setting the bag of work down for the sake of the future of you.

How we handle the "bags” we carry determines our success and ultimate happiness.

Have you ever known someone who has been through the worst of times and still remains positive and energetic?
The only difference between them and a frustrated version of a once optimistic you is that other person has learned how to spend very little time with the weight of the bag on their back.

As soon as they feel a bad experience shifting their outlook they throw down the bag and call the bag what it is.
The bag is something that resulted from a PAST situation and should be left there.

Start unloading....

You may think things will not get better.
But they will.
Losing hope comes from a past that has shown a person a lot of struggle.
That is why it is so important to leave the past where it belongs.
Behind you.
So that you are lighter and able to move forward.
